I’m a little… let’s use “weird” about the Christmas tree (I’ve actually written about it in previous years, 2010 and 2009). I always have visions of Better, Homes and Gardens floating through my head when it comes time to put up the tree.
Now I don’t know if you are aware of this or not, but the BH&G look is hard work. Almost every year I dread putting up the tree (even though I have it sitting up in my living room before Thanksgiving some years). But this year I got a new tree, and I’ve anxiously been waiting for the time to decorate it. I finally got the chance this past weekend (really it took me more like a week, but who’s counting).
I think this is the prettiest tree I’ve ever had. I’m not crazy about the star, but I can change it out for something else next year (Thank you to Pinterest for teaching me how to take a proper photo of my tree. Or I guess actually thanks to Beth at Unskinny Boppy). I also managed to put up all of the other decorations, but they aren’t anything different from what I’ve done in previous years.
Now if I can keep the kids from crashing into it when they are wrestling, jumping on it as they vault the sofa, throwing a football into it as they play a game of catch, or tipping it over during one of their dance parties then we should be good to go until the big day.
Have you decorated your Christmas tree yet? Or you as “weird” about how it looks as I am? Got a photo of it on your blog? Leave me a link so I can check it out if you do.
