Random Thoughts:
Only eleven days until V day! Have you decided who you are voting for? Have you ever been more thankful to the person that invented the DVR? I’m SO glad I do not live in a swing state. We are not inundated with political advertisements like some areas are. Thankfully I’ve been able to either fast forward over or mute most of them.
Even if you have made your decisions I would like to suggest that you fact check, fact check, fact check… and then fact check again. Don’t trust anything you see on the news or (God forbid) hear in a political ad. I’ve heard some people say that the fact checking agencies (my favorite is Poltifact.com) are partisan. Not true. Just because they are calling out one party or candidate as a liar more than this other doesn’t mean they are partisan. It just means that party or candidate is lying more.
A Photo Just Because:
This is my cutie patootie nephew. You may remember his as Baby A. Now he is a full blown toddler running around trying to keep up with the big kids.

I can’t wait to try this pumpkin truffles recipe from Kelly.
Stuff I Did This Week:
Sunday I was completely out of it. I’ve been taking my ADD meds only during the week, but on Sunday I crash. As in, I sit on the couch all day and only think about going to bed. Luckily, I had a doctor appointment this week and now I’m trying three days on and one day off. Fingers crossed. Monday I was so busy at work and catching up from Sunday that I didn’t write anything. Bad Jennifer. Bad. Tuesday I shared the final installment in the series about my relationship with my Dad. I want to thank everyone for being so supportive and encouraging while I wrote out my memories. It has definitely helped with the healing process. Wednesday I shared a tutorial for making cute treats for your kids. Thursday I gave you some tips for buying a new car.
Some Great Stuff I Read:
Most of my reading lately has been political in nature, and I’m sure no one really wants to know more about that, but I did read this really great article about economics (I’m a nerd). Some might think it is political, but I like it because of the economy discussion, Taking Stockman: How Nixon, Reagan, Bush, and their GOP Demolished the Economy.
Something not political? I loved this post by Maggie, Honey, That’s Not a Bird. A good reminder about where our hope should really be placed.

Oh, my! Your nephew’s resemblance to your kids is uncanny!
And yup, I know for whom I’m voting, just glad Frankenstorm will be gone by then.
Confession: I read the title of the treats post as “How to Make Smarties, People” as in People! Look! I’ma tell you how to make candies! And then I read it and giggled at my silliness (and the fact that my interest was more in the making of the candy for my eating of the candy, not the making of the candy for treats to give to kids. I feel better).
There is a campaign here that is just running down one candidate on TV and in the mail. They aren’t saying who’s running against her, but just warning not to vote for her. It is ugly.
A candidate in another race lives across the street from a friend of mine and I saw him mowing the grass without a shirt. It was okay because he was completely covered with the sweater God gave him, but I thought it made it seem like he didn’t appreciate the public nature of the term “public office”. It wasn’t really all that hot that day.
Thanks for the shout out. *blushes* *again*.
Are you going to make those truffles this weekend?? If so, you just need to drive some on over here. It’s not THAT far…
Thanks for sharing my Truffles recipe!! You will be in heaven after that first bite! Yum!!
Living in a swing state is a battle of wills!
So glad that I’ll be on vacation on Ejection Day!
I am actually enjoying the reprieve from all the candidates with the Frankenstorm. But I know it will all be back in action tomorrow. My husband is HUGE into politics so I know that next Tuesday he will be glued to the TV and computer watching the results come in.
Your nephew could be yours. Those are some strong genes in your family!
