Yummy, Healthy Snacks

I love a good bar. No, not that kind silly. The food kind. The problem is that I don’t think very many of them are good. My favorite has always been the Fiber One bars. My kids really like them too.

The only real drawback is of the gastrointestinal variety. Which means they make you toot. But you can manage that by eating them in the afternoon. That way the toots don’t hit until you get home where you can lay the silent but deadlies on your unsuspecting .

Fiber One has come out with two new chewy bars aimed to appeal to kids in chocolate and strawberry pb&j flavors. I was sent a box of each to review. The kids LOVE them, and I have to say that the pb&j variety is really awesome. It tastes just like a peanut butter sandwich.

I also like that they are easy to pack for Cady for snack time at school and are made with calcium, no high fructose corn syrup, and are pretty low in sugar compared to some other bars.

The only downside is that now the kids can bomb me back.

  1. I’m a couponer so I only pick these up when I have coupon AND they are on sale!

    • I forgot to include the link to a printable coupon. I added it if. You are interested. Also, you should consider signing up with My Blog Spark. They send coupons and stuff all the time.

  2. I wish I had one of those with me this morning! I’d love an excuse to eat chocolate for breakfast.

  3. Funny, I just had this conversation yesterday. I am pretty sure kids prefer them because you feel like you’ve had something. Those Quaker ones just make you hungry and don’t fill the hole.

We have loved these for many years, as someone in our house needs a lot of fiber, or his/her gut will stop doing its thing. When someone fires an SBV, its never him/her.

  4. I would love to try these. We have had the other flavors and the kids approve but I think they would JUMP FOR JOY with these two flavors!

  5. Hmmm. I will have to try these out, though we don’t need any additional tooting in my house – for sure. I do find it challenging to find a healthy filling snack for Princess to eat at snack time.

  6. I love a good bar too! (Shhh, I actually love both kinds!) :)

  7. LOVE these. They’re pretty high up on my favorite bars list too, and I’m glad I’m not the only one who lets the SBD’s go near the unsuspecting too ;)
