Thank you letters to those little things that help me make it through the day…
Dear Keurig,
I wanted to write and say thank you. Thank you for being there every morning and for having my coffee hot and ready in a flash. I know you probably feel unappreciated. We don’t change your filter as often as the manual says we should, and heck, you hardly ever even get wiped down with a warm cloth. But just so you know, I wouldn’t be able to face the day without you. If it came down to you or the kids, well I would keep the kids because I legally have to, but… you know… {wink, wink, nudge, nudge}
Much love,
Jennifer
Dear Quitting Time,
Monday through Friday you are the most looked forward time of the day. I’m not sure I’ve ever told you that. You are the time I get to leave the office to go be with my family. I know some days are probably rough because I’m focused on all of the things that I have to do after you pass, but I want you to know that I appreciate you, and if you see 8:00pm please give him a shout out from me. Because bed time for the kids, no matter how much I love and adore them, is definitely the second most looked forward to time of the day.
Forever yours,
Jennifer
Dear David’s Turn,
I know you must feel unappreciated. He always has to be reminded that you are here. Some nights I have to nag him to not forget you, but while he may wish that you would stay away, I want you to know that I love the fact you come to visit every other night. Bath time would not be the same without you.
Warm regards,
Jennifer
Dear iPad,
What can I say that hasn’t been said before? {blinking back tears} I thought iPhone was my number one favorite, but then you came along and changed the way I do everything. No longer do I have to carry Laptop when I leave home for the weekend. Your light weight and quick response time brings a tear of joy to my eyes. Not to mention the fact that I can not only use you to read email, check Facebook, and surf the web, but you also offer hours of entertainment possibilities through streaming video, games, and, my personal favorite, books. Nook had nothing on you.
Always and forever,
Jennifer
Today I’m linking up with Mama Kat for the Pretty Much World Famous Writer’s Workshop to write thank you letters to the things that save my life everyday. What would you thank?

This is great. After my extended single parenting gig I am thrilled to have Big Yankee around to take his turn.
Is there really anything better than being able to say, “it’s your turn”?
YES…iPad…YES! (A la Harry Met Sally). This morning I got the update with Suri…counting the minutes to get home and play with her. (OK – that wasn’t supposed to sound dirty…which it probably wouldn’t have had I not started this comment with a reference to the coffee shop orgasm).
Fun post!

I love this comment so I’m going to thank YOU for making me smile today.
Love this!
I wish I could spend more time with my iPad….but the kids always have it.
I’m so stingy with mine. I know if I ever let the kids play with then it is gone. I do have a couple of games on there for them, but mostly it is mine… all mine.
David takes a turn? Tell me how that works.
I say, “David, it’s your turn,” and then I let him take care of whatever it is however he wants as long as it gets done.
Oh gosh! LOL!! I love this post. So…I really should get one of those Keurigs?? (I want one!)
Thanks for visiting my blog and for the advice. It’s a done deal~
Lisa
I love it! David got it for me for Christmas, and the one in the photo is actually one we have in the office that one of my coworkers brought in for us to use (he got a newer, fancier one at home). I think it makes the best coffee I’ve ever had.
LOL at “David’s Turn”. Too funny!! Is it bad that I’m so dreading bath time with the upcoming baby??? I hate baths.
So, things I would thank right this minute…
- My iPhone
- Subway’s chocolate chip cookies
- My heated and cooled seats
- Diet Cherry 7 Up
I hate bath time too. With Cady, David did it every night because (I did everything else and) he liked it. After James was born he realized how much work it was and we started taking turns.
I would write a LOVE letter to my mini van. Ode to a mini van… A poem perhaps. I love that damn thing.
I test drove a mini van. I just couldn’t pull the plug. I’m sure I’ll regret not having all of that lovely space.
I love when it’s David’s Turn! Next time it’s David’s Turn, can David come to my house? We have lots to do here.
Sorry. I will not share David’s turn. I’m totally stingy with that.
I would thank my pjs because I love the feeling of cozy they bring to me any time of the day that I am able to put them on or even stay in them.
Man, I didn’t think about pj’s. They are definitely one of my favorite things. Of course I just wrote about pajamas a couple of weeks ago. If I did again y’all might think I have an obsession or something.
Wait… my keureg has a filter I’m supposed to change? I am in some deep stuff.
I’m not sure they all have one, but ours does, and I’ve read on some forums that people said they had problems after changing theirs but we haven’t.
I didn’t know about the Keurig filter either. I loved mine, but sold it before I left the States. I miss it. I love DJ’s turn as much as chicken dinner. Since none of my stuff is here at the moment and based on my previous few weeks, I believe I would have to write a love letter to the internet.
I don’t think all of them have a filter, and that is the one thing that I would have wanted to take with me. But I guess the whole plug/outlet thing would be an issue. Do they sell them there?
I SO love my Keurig. I don’t know what I would do without it.
Me too. It makes the best coffee and I love that it is super fast.
Love the Keurig one! That morning caffeine just makes it all better!
I don’t understand people that can make it through the morning without a little stimulation via caffeine.
I all the time used to read article in news papers but now
as I am a user of web so from now I am using net for content,
thanks to web.
