Random Thoughts:
We had our first official Girl Scout troop meeting of the new school year this week. Can I just tell you how much I love these girls? They make my heart sing. All of our girls returned except for two that moved away (I miss them), plus we have two new girls. I think they are going to fit in just great. I think we are going to have a really exciting year.
Of course we are starting off the year with fall fundraiser because everyone knows that back to school is the “most fun-draiser-est time of the year.” In the fall the Girl Scouts, our council anyway, do nuts, chocolates, and magazines. The magazines we can actually do all online. If you are interested in helping out our troop I can send you a link to place an order for new magazines or renewals. Don’t make me get Cady to do a super cute video to persuade you.
A Photo Just Because:
You’ve seen them all already. Sorry.

I needed this for my Monday post.
A Good Book:
I love a good book, and I’m always looking for something mindless and fun to read. The Night Huntress Series* is exactly that. The series is about Cat, a vampire hunter, and Bones, her vampire boyfriend. It is full of action and has a crime fighting, mystery type of style with just a few super sexy scenes thrown in for fun. The first book in the series is Halfway to the Grave
. It is a really fast read and if you are into paranormal fiction and like a heroine that kicks ass then I think you will like it.
Stuff I Did This Week:
Monday I told y’all about my case of the blahs. Tuesday I told you I’m going to start a new series that will not be all rainbows and unicorns. Wednesday I gave you a chance to win a gallery wrapped canvas, which is still open, just FYI. Yesterday I told you all about my day, in photos.
Some Great Stuff I Read:
I’m still behind in my reading so I don’t have a lot to share, but these two posts were so amazing and just took me back and touched me so much. Plus I’m going to keep sharing Maggie until all of you are reading her because I love her so much, Gritty By Grace and The Summer We Lived with Grandma. These are absolute must reads.

Definitely going to have to agree on The Night Huntress series. My best friend loaned me the first one and within minutes of finishing it I was logging in to Amazon to buy more. She’s a great writer with an awesome ability to paint a 55″ HD widescreen image in your mind with her words alone!
Yes! And such an easy read too. I like books that I can finish quickly.
UGH! Fall Fundraisers. I love magazines, but unfortunately both my older two are doing Magazine Fundraisers this month.
My friend just told me that in her son’s school they stopped selling things for fundraisers and instead the kids did a walkathon. And you had friends and family pledge money for the amount of laps the kids did.
I am not quite sure how I feel about that????
Love your pin!
That illustration cracks me up. Probably because I feel that way a lot lately…
I love that pin. It sums things up just perfectly, doesn’t it?
Thanks for the shout out!
I just read The Devil in the White City. I had been meaning to read if for years and had never gotten around to it. It is not a quick ‘grab you’ read, but Leo DiCaprio is going to be in the movie.
