Sum It Up {Random Thoughts}

Random Thoughts:
I got nothing. I’m as shocked as you are.

fun stuff with kids

OH.MY.HEART!!!! One of my girl scouts came to the meeting this week, “Mom, mom, did you bring my paper to show Ms. Jennifer?!” Her mom had forgotten the paper at home. “Mom, you HAVE to go back home and get it.” She did. This was it.

She had an assignment at school, and one part was to name an elementary school after someone they knew or someone in Texas that they felt was a good citizen. She chose me. My heart grew three sizes that day.

Have I mentioned how much I love these girls? If you haven’t yet please go order a magazine to support our fall fundraiser. These girls are going to be doing great things. You can go to Cady’s Store to place your order.

Pin of the Week:

all about me

Sometimes I see a pin that reminds me so much of me that I literally laugh out loud. I had to tag Jodi in this one because we both think we are hilarious. And we totally are.

Stuff I Did This Week:
Monday I gave y’all some housecleaning tips for the time constrained. Which let’s face it, is pretty much every mother I know. Tuesday I shared the next part of the series about my relationship with my dad, The Wedding. This whole baring your sole is totally going to get easier… right? Wednesday I was all up in some local controversy because there is nothing I love more than sharing my opinion. And yesterday I told you all about my love game shows and asked you to fill out a little survey. If you haven’t had a chance I would SO much appreciate it if you could do that for me.

I have to share that one of my high school took the survey (I only know because he signed it. I promise it is anonymous.), and it was hilarious. Y’all know I’m from a super conservative area. On the question, “What would encourage you to subscribe?” he wrote, “Magically become a conservative!” I love so much that even though my don’t always agree with me that we can still be and support one another. I know this because at the end he wrote, “Great to see you doing something to further issues that you care about (even if it is the dark side). Ha!” That’s good stuff y’all.

Some Great Stuff I Read:
I actually managed to read some stuff this week, and so, so much of it was good.

- I loved this post, Hurt Is Not Betrayal, at A Diary of a Mom. She was writing about her daughter, but this line, “”… Hurt is not Betrayal; it’s simply part of Love,” can be applied to so many people. I loved it so much I even shared it with my therapist yesterday. I think that might be something I need to tattoo on my wrist so I can read it every day.

- I loved this post from Gigi, Lessons From Under The Pillow. This is something I wholeheartedly believe and I work with Cady on this ALL the time. Our beliefs tend to become our reality. That it is why it is so important to believe in ourselves.

- This post from Lisa (Crazy Adventures in Parenting) has some good blogging advice. I’ve been trying to figure out how to do this for awhile, and I like her easy to use instructions.

- This article about a small town in Michigan that stands behind a high school student that was being bullied by her peers is pure awesome. If you have followed any of The Bloggess’ stories about the red dress movement you will love the fact that her dress is going to be red as much as I do.

That’s it for this week. Catch you on the flip side!
