Random Thoughts:
Saturday night while I was at BlogHer I called home to check on everyone. A little voice answered on the other end of the line. “James?”
“Un-hunh.”
“This is Momma. Where’s Daddy?”
“He’s outside. Momma, I’m watching Christmas.” I only let them watch Christmas movies during the holidays so it is always a treat for them when I’m out of town.
“Where’s Cady?”
“She’s outside with Daddy.”
Um, excuse me… “How did you answer the phone by yourself?”
“I just pushed my finguh on ‘de phone.” He swiped David’s iPhone and answered all by himself.
I know this isn’t a really big deal for a four year old, but this is the first time he’s done it (that I know of), and excuse me, but WTF?! When did my baby get big enough to answer the phone all by himself? Was it Wednesday when I left for New York? This is just completely unacceptable. Plus? He has grown like a foot over the summer. Slow down on the getting big kid.

Stuff I Did This Week:
I know this week I’ve written a couple of sponsored posts. I really like doing these, and I try not to put them so close together, but that is just how it fell out this time. I will have another one next week, and I also want to write about a couple of companies that I LOVE in the next few weeks. I just want y’all to know that I will never share anything with you that I do not use or support 100%. Money will never buy my integrity. But it does help pay the bills if you know what I’m sayin’.
Monday I shared just a little bit with you about BlogHer. I promise there will be more to come on that soon. Tuesday I told you about a cool new product from LeapFrog. Wednesday I wrote about the new Kraft iPad app that allows you to donate noodles to Feeding America just by creating virtual macaroni art. Yesterday I shared with you about my year in therapy. So at least there was one person thing this week, right? You guys are bailing on me are you?
Some Great Stuff I Read:
I am so far behind on reading posts. I apologize for that. I promise that I will catch up with everyone. Here are some things I did read this week that I think are worth sharing:
- This post from Grasping for Objectivity about mom jeans is great. I’m researching where I can buy the brands she listed in plus sizes as soon as possible!
- This post from Faiqa about the shooting in Wisconsin is smart and beautiful, which is to be expected of everything she writes.
- I have not written a BlogHer recap post yet, but Elaine did an excellent job of summing up the reason I go.
- And if you have not seen the video of President Obama addressing the BlogHer attendees go! Watch it now!

Good Morning. I gotta check out the one about jeans…while the jeans I have still cover me decently.
I wish we had an iPad so we could share some Mac N Cheese.
I put off the iPad purchase for awhile, but now I see clearly why everyone loves them so much. It is pretty freaking awesome.
That jeans post was very informative and funny.
Buster amazes me with the stuff he can do on a phone or gadget, without having seen it being done before. It’s like the kids nowadays have all this technological intuition. It’s crazy.
That jeans post was crazy. I never knew. Her visuals were the best.
Oh, wow…he’s a growing boy!!
I hear you on being behind on reading. I’m dying. It’s killing me. I’m trying.
And trying.
As of today I’m 100% caught up! That does not mean that I read everything. There was much skimming and deleting.
I love that I already knew that story at the beginning.
Hope you’re feeling better today…
I had to cry on someone’s shoulder when it happened.
I am reading. Just mostly on my phone so commenting stinks. It has been a busy couple of weeks!
I can’t believe how big James is! It always amazes me how savvy children are with technology.
Well except for my son, he is not savvy. We just bought him a cell phone because he starts middle school in two weeks and he is REALLY trying to master the texting, but it’s not natural for him! He reminds me of my dad! HA!
He has gotten so, so big over the summer. It is that magic that happens between four and five. It is killing me.
iPhone thieving kids. We’ve got them. And I like this post round-up thingy you’ve got going on here. Very cool. Congrats on a year in therapy. I need to read up on what you’ve learned about weight loss, because I seriously need to get some help on that front. Every time I go to the doctor I’ve gained weight. Boo to that crap!
And now that I have the iPad they want it ALL the time. Like they think I bought it for them. Back off cookie snatchers!!!
