Project 365, Week 31

I’m home! And exhausted and thrilled and lonely for my friends and happy and just full of thoughts about everything. Instead of inundating you with tons of photos for my Project 365 this week I just want to share a few (mostly because Elaine hasn’t posted hers yet and I’m going to steal all of them).

My flight out on Tuesday was awesome, except for the fact that Elaine missed the first leg of her flight and we didn’t get to go together.

My roommates (Erin, Tracy, and Elaine) were great. Erin made sure we had plenty of towels by raiding a housekeeping cart. (Elaine is showing them off before hiding them in the closet.)

There were a few dinners with friends that reminded me of the exact reason I book a plane ticket, buy a conference pass, and leave my family for a few days.

I got to have fabulous breakfast with a movie star.

And experience the ingenuity of New Yorkers.

This guy was my best friend. I have never been as hot or sweated as much as I did while I was there. I’m pretty sure this cab driver was the only New Yorker that understand the necessity of air conditioning.

I know y’all will probably get tired of hearing all of my “OMG I went to BlogHer” posts (if you aren’t already) so I promise not to do too many more and I’ll try to space them out to make them more bearable.

I hope y’all had a fabulous week and another one is on deck for you today. Now I’ve got to get to work!

Comments

  1. I can’t wait to see more. I wish I could’ve been there. It looks like all of you had an amazing time.
And I truly believe that time away with friends is just what the doctor ordered for us mommas!

  2. Ok so I have been staring at the taxi picture trying to figure out why you were so excited about it but then I got it… that tube was there to get a/c in the back seat.

Wow. I need help or something.

    • Yes. Air conditioning. I got in the truck and turned it all the way on high. And you know what? I did not break a sweat once today. True story.

  3. That taxi driver is darn smart! So glad that you had fun. Can’t wait to hear more about it. I wish I could have gone!

  4. Write all you want about it. I want to hear it all.

  5. Oh, I’m so, so happy for you that it was pure fabulous! How could it not be, right? Love!

  6. Bahahaha, that air conditioning in the cab is hilarious! I would be slightly scared riding in there though. I mean if that’s what he does to the aircon, what has he done to the engine??

  7. Cracking up at the towels!

Next year, I’ll be there. :)

    • It was so hilarious. First Erin took a bunch off of a cart, and then when the brought sheets for the sofa bed they brought an additional stack of towels. We still had towels on Sunday.

Can’t wait to meet you in person next year.

  8. My goodness…I just got through apologizing to Maggie on being so far behind on her life and now I’m apologizing to you.

I feel lost. Life has been so busy with new and exciting things and well, 24 hours isn’t enough.

But how FUN! I bet you had a fantastic time!! And yes…stories…lots of’em!

I’m still trying to locate my ticket that I swear I bought back in January for next month. If I didn’t get it back then…I might have to make some changes which I’m really hoping I don’t have to do.

    Love.

    • Log in to EventBrite. They should have it recorded if you purchased it.

And did you see the photo of me and The Bearded Iris on Twitter? I took it just for you.

  9. I honestly can’t wait to hear more about it!!

  10. I forgot about the towel picture. But I love it. Glad we got to fly home together.

Miss you bunches… and every time you tweet me I hear your awesome accent.

    XOXOXO
