When I saw the opportunity to review the new LeapFrog Learning Bus I was so excited. I’ve been purchasing various LeapFrog products for my kids since Cady was born. (The alphabet and putting letters together videos are fantastic.) I knew it would be a quality product that they would enjoy and I was not disappointed.

James immediately took the bus out of the box and asked me to open it. At four he was able to understand all of the features on his own and started playing with it right away.

On the back is a power switch so it CAN be turned off (score!) and a volume switch with two different levels. The front is completely flat and uses touch and swipe technology to work. My kids love playing with my phone so this technology was nothing new for them.

James really likes the music option. He chooses that selection at the top and then sings along to all of the songs. You can also choose different things by selecting the different characters on the front. It would not take long for a little one to figure out which was his or her favorite and easily be able to select it each time. Along the bottom are piano keys and drum pads (the wheels) that allow kids to play along with the music.

There are three different modes of play to ensure that kids are not easily bored. In “Learn Mode” they can explore letters, vocabulary, and musical instruments. In “Game Mode” kids can listen to questions and then select the correct letters and objects. “Music Mode” (James’ favorite) lets them sing and play along to songs.

Here is a super short video of James singing along and answering a couple of questions about the bus.

He has really enjoyed playing with it, and I’m so glad I got a chance to review it. Next week I’ll be reviewing the new LeapFrog Touch Rockin’ Guitar which he loves even more and will be providing you with some details about a video contest from LeapFrog.

Here is some additional information from LeapFrog about the Learning Bus:

  1. What are the ages on the bus and rockin’ guitar? Buster LOVES music, and I have a feeling he’d like it, but I don’t want it to be too young for him either. I’m thinking Christmas.
