Last week I shared with y’all that I hate to shop. One of the reasons is that it has always been hard for me to find clothes that fit properly. I’m petite and plus size. Not many designers make clothes for someone of my body type.
Additionally, we have a professional dress policy where I work. Why is that an issue? Because it means that I essentially have to have at least two wardrobes, one for work and one for casual wear. Another problem is that the “casual wear” wardrobe does not always work for dressier casual functions like girl’s night out, date night with David, or hanging at a blog conference.
Last week Land’s End contacted me and asked if I would like to review a pair of their Chinos. I jumped at the chance that maybe I would finally find a wardrobe item that not only fit properly, but also bridged my wardrobe issues. I selected the Women’s Fit 2 Straight Leg Chino in black.
So did they pass my wardrobe test? Let’s see:
First I paired them with a light sweater and a blazer for the office. This is a look I could wear almost every day. It was comfortable and professional.
Next up was date night. I think they transition well from professional to “dressy casual.”
Let’s face it, the thing that I do most (next to sitting in an office) is running around with my kids in the evenings and on weekends. The Land’s End Chinos definitely work for that. How about something a little more casual?
Like game day. Go Cards! Yep, once again these pants would be perfect.
I love these pants, and I can see myself wearing them ALL the time. I like that I could wear them to work during the day and then simply change my top and wear them to Cady’s softball game or a movie at night. I love that you can order these pants in regular, petite, tall, and plus sizes. Also, you can request your inseam length so that the pants will fit you properly. They will also hem the pants to your desired length.
I’ve been a fan of the Land’s End brand for awhile. I like the sizing chart on their website and have found it to be reliable in the past. I also love that they are putting real effort into making their plus size line of clothing something that women will really want to wear. This will ensure that I’m a loyal customer for a long time.
Do you have “nothing fits” problems like me when you shop? Have you ever tried shopping from the Land’s End site?
Disclosure: I received one free pair of Land’s End Chinos to facilitate my review.

I need to find something like that…something that easily goes from work to happy hour to date night to weekend. Sometimes it seems impossible.
It really is hard to find items that transition easily.
Ugh… I hate to shop and nothing ever seems to fit.
I do love Lands’ End though.
I think I need to check out those pants.
They have tons of options for us shorties.
All cute outfits! I love that orange top on you–I could never wear that color. So fresh!
Sure you could… I guess. I love bright colors.
I just love when you can have one piece that is multi-functional! You look great!
Me too, and thanks!
Running to go check out those pants! They look great on you.
Yes… go… check them out!
Did you have an affiliate link I can click through?
Not for Land’s End, but you can click my Hoopla Doopla button in the side bar and shop at Land’s End through them. That way we would BOTH earn cash back.
Wow! I like those pants!
I have always hated shopping because of my weird body shape. Even at 13 when I was a size 0 (oh, how I miss those days!), I had trouble. My hips were always so much wider than my waist that I have gap problems with my pants in the back (no one wants permanent plumber-type issues – LOL).
I’m happy to say, it’s gotten a little better with my recent weight loss.
You look nice! Comfortable for work, yet still professional.
Now, I gotta go check out those pants!
~Leslie~
I have always had a smaller waist proportionally to my hips, even at the size I am now. I like the Land’s End Chinos because them come in the different styles, like natural waist, hip, and higher waist. Makes it so much easier to find something that will work.
They look great on you! That date night outfit…TO DIE FOR!!
I am a huge fan of Land’s End. I order for my husband (he has a really long arm length and they carry it in their awesome no-iron dress shirts), myself and my girls.
Thanks ma’am. No iron dress shirts? I need to see if they have those for women.
Work it! i love the one you put on FB, gorgeous!
Looking GREAT in those super versatile pants! I want some.
The date night shot makes you look really tall. I used to just pour over the Land’s End catalog. When ordering by phone, sometimes they would give a lower price than I was seeing in the catalog.
Mickey’s all time favorite shirt is from Land’s End. All. Time. I had to make him stop wearing it to work when it got frayed at collar, cuffs, and button placket.
I absolutely LOVE their clothes! Jennifer, they do have No Iron dress shirts for women (see link below). They’re great! Plus if you sign up for emails they have free shipping sometimes!!

Very cute! I have the petite problem too- I love Ann Taylor LOFT for their petite styles. I have never checked out Land’s End, I will have to.
I only buy my bathing suits from Lands End. They fit that well. I haven’t tried their pants, but that’s because NOTHING fits…at least elsewhere. Maybe once I have this baby, it would make sense to try their pants out.
I love the Land’s End bathing suits. I bought one this summer and it is so cute and comfortable.
I ADORE the bathing suits I got from them this last Spring and I’ve gotten many compliments on them!
Those pants look great on you!
I love Land’s End. They have comfy nice clothes that fit and last. Also, their customer service is fantastic. Last year I ordered two pairs of pants using a discount code from woot.com. When I received the order the pants were too large in the waist. Instead of mailing them back for an exchange I called customer service and my call was answered on the SECOND RING by an actual person who placed the new order for me at the same price as the previous one and sent me a shipping label so I could return the too big pants postage paid. And she was so nice too. I felt like I was talking to a friend.
