Last Sunday I made a pot roast with carrots and onions. It was so good.
Lots and lots of swimming lessons last week. James is doing such a good job.
Last week the kids had “dress up” days at school. Tuesday was costume day. Cady walked out of the room and said, “Fashion threw up all over me.” I have no idea how she comes up with this stuff.
Wednesday James was jumping in from the side and swimming to the ladder.
I do believe you guys have seen this one.
My mom and my brother before the fireworks show Friday night. I love that a local town does them early.
James took the longest nap ever on Saturday. Part of it was spent using my leg for a pillow.

Beautiful summer pictures. It was always so precious to have my kids sleep on me.
Oh yes. I don’t know how much longer that will last so I cherish it every time.
Great pictures! We saw fireworks this weekend too. The lake that my in-laws live on always does the fireworks the Saturday before the 4th.
Cute pic of James sleeping on you. Aww.
I love going to fireworks before the 4th. Too much trouble to go during the middle of the week.
I love sleepy children!
Sleepy children that are asleep are the best. Sleepy children that are cranky and not asleep or the worst.
Looks like a great week. It was definitely a good week for swimming. It’s so hot already.
It is so, so hot. Of course it is always hot here.
Hi Jennifer,
Looks like the pot roast with carrots and onions you made was so delicious! I want to cook one with my kids too this coming Sunday and gotta spend time with them swimming… So jealous that you can cook
If you don’t mind, what’s your secret recipe for this?
Thanks,
Venee
Not really a recipe. I seasoned the roast with our favorite all purpose seasoning, and then I seared it with a little bit of olive oil, added the onions while I was searing the roast, then when it was all brown on the outside I added the carrots and about a cup of white wine. I put all of that in the oven on 350 and let it cook for about three hours.
Glad to see swimming is going well and I adore that shot of your Mom and brother!
The swimming is going so much better, but now she has a sore throat and the doctor said she can’t swim until next week. I’m hoping she doesn’t have a relapse before she can get back in the pool.
