Project 365, Week 26

food

Last Sunday I made a pot roast with carrots and onions. It was so good.

Swimming lessons.

Lots and lots of swimming lessons last week. James is doing such a good job.

kids

Last week the kids had “dress up” days at school. Tuesday was costume day. Cady walked out of the room and said, “Fashion threw up all over me.” I have no idea how she comes up with this stuff.

Wednesday James was jumping in from the side and swimming to the ladder.

I do believe you guys have seen this one.

family

My mom and my brother before the fireworks show Friday night. I love that a local town does them early.

kids

James took the longest nap ever on Saturday. Part of it was spent using my leg for a pillow.

Comments

  1. Beautiful summer pictures. It was always so precious to have my kids sleep on me.

  2. Great pictures! We saw fireworks this weekend too. The lake that my in-laws live on always does the fireworks the Saturday before the 4th.

Cute pic of James sleeping on you. Aww.

  3. I love sleepy children!

  4. Looks like a great week. It was definitely a good week for swimming. It’s so hot already.

  5. Hi Jennifer,

Looks like the pot roast with carrots and onions you made was so delicious! I want to cook one with my kids too this coming Sunday and gotta spend time with them swimming… So jealous that you can cook :( If you don’t mind, what’s your secret recipe for this?

    Thanks,
    Venee :)

    • Not really a recipe. I seasoned the roast with our favorite all purpose seasoning, and then I seared it with a little bit of olive oil, added the onions while I was searing the roast, then when it was all brown on the outside I added the carrots and about a cup of white wine. I put all of that in the oven on 350 and let it cook for about three hours.

  6. Glad to see swimming is going well and I adore that shot of your Mom and brother!

    • The swimming is going so much better, but now she has a sore throat and the doctor said she can’t swim until next week. I’m hoping she doesn’t have a relapse before she can get back in the pool.
