Weight Watchers, Week 2

by Jennifer on October 20, 2011

Another one bites the dust. Another week and another pound. In the spirit of honesty I’ll say that at first I was a little disappointed, but once again I realized that’s dumb. A loss is a loss. If I lose one pound a week then I’ll be fifty pounds lighter in a year, and I can’t think of a thing wrong with that.

This week went pretty smooth. I’m pretty much taking one day at a time and still being in the “honeymoon” phase I didn’t really have any temptations this week. Well, that’s a lie. I had one. I made these Strawberry Squares from Skinnytaste.

They were SO good. Like amazing! David and I decided that they reminded us of pound cake. I cut them into individual servings when I made them, but I eventually had to put them in bags and put them in the refrigerator so that I couldn’t see them anymore. I am pretty proud of myself for sticking with one serving and staying within my points.

If you’ve never visited the Skinnytaste website you should totally check it out. She has amazing recipes. We also made the Chicken Divan and the Asian Turkey Meatballs. I loved both of them, and the kids said they liked them too. David takes a little more convincing, but he is still going along. He is actually the one that made the meatballs.

I went to Zumba last Thursday, Monday and Tuesday. I love it so, so much even though I’m 100% positive that I look like a complete idiot while I’m there. That is not going to stop me from going though. It is so much fun. They don’t have a class on Wednesday night so I “played” Just Dance 2 for about 20 minutes and then I got my weight bar and did some exercises for about another 20 minutes. Move, move, move… that’s my goal.

My plan for this week is to keep just taking everything one day at a time. I’m going to focus on that day, that hour, that minute until that day is over and then I’ll do the next day.

Week 2 loss: 1 pound
Total loss: 3 pounds

I think you have such a great attitude. One day at a time. I have never tried Zumba, but I know people who love it.

I never thought of cutting things up into individual servings- so a good idea. Not only for us adults, but to also show our children what a serving should actually look like.

It really helped to just get it out of my line of sight. Plus when it was time for me to actually have a snack all I had to do was pull one out of the refrigerator.

Those look good. I bet they are less expensive to make than pound cake, too.
Congratulations, on completing week 2 and finding things that work for you.

Oh yeah. It only took four eggs and a tablespoon of butter compared to a dozen and a pound, or whatever it is in a pound cake.

Great job! I love Weight Watchers! I went on hiatus when I came to Texas in July and I never went back… and have gained about 6 pounds of the 16 I lost back. I need to focus and get back on track – and it is a reminder to me that I need the meetings to keep me focused. The thing they always told us was that if you are frustrated for only losing 1 pound, or .8 of a pound- go to the deli and buy 1 pound of sliced turkey and hold it in your hand and realize just how heavy that is.

That’s true. I try to think of it like a pound of butter. That’s a lot of fat.

A loss is a loss. I’ve been at a standstill for about 3 weeks now, and while I’m disappointed in myself that I haven’t lost any more, I also have to recognize the fact that I am maintaining. I haven’t gained even 0.1 of a pound, which is pretty awesome.

That’s totally awesome. I think sometimes our bodies wake up to what we are doing and are all, “WTF? No way am I going along with this.” But then we keep at it and they come along for the ride. Just remember to that so you can tell me when I stall. :)

This is a GREAT mindset! Keep it up!

Slow and steady wins the race. Or something like that, right?

I’m so proud of you. And yes, those cookies look MIGHTY tasty! I’m going to check out that site… thanks!

Congrats on the weight loss! It is so hard to lose weight and easy to get discouraged and pack it back on, which is why I love Weight Watchers so much. It always felt, decently manageable. Also yay you on the Zumba! Can you believe I’ve never taken a Zumba class?

Keep up the great work woman. One thing that helps me in the weight loss is that I think about how fast time flies. Last week seems like two weeks ago (or even a month ago if you’re really busy.) So time will zip by as you’re trying to lose weight, in no time you’ll look up and 20 lbs will be gone.

I feel like it’s kinda like motherhood. The days are long, but the weeks and months are short.
