Share Your Awesome, Aunt Crazy’s Here Y’all.

by Jennifer on July 15, 2011

It is Friday and that means it is time to Share Your Awesome. This week’s featured blogger is Aunt Crazy. She has that right up front big ole Texas personality that I just love. Maybe cause it is pretty similar to mine. I’ve actually written about her before. She was the blog friend that offered to meet me when I took Bud to the allergist appointment earlier this year. She’s also a self-proclaimed redneck and a whole lotta crazy. Which is why I love her of course, and I’m betting you will too.

Aunt Crazy's Here Y'all
1. What is easier, little kids or teenagers?

When my kids were younger, I always thought that it would be easier, as a working mom, to juggle work and home. I was wrong, so very, very wrong, LMAO!!! The older they got, the more involved in EVERYTHING they became, which meant I was trying to juggle my work hours to get them where they needed to be and when.

2. You daughter has this amazing… spirit. Who does she get that from?

Spirit, heehee, that’s one way of putting it. Personally, I’ve taken to calling her Princess B&tch these days!!! Honestly, her dad and I have always wanted her to be self confident, to be independent, to be able to handle herself because the world, it’s a tough place and let’s face it, there IS a double standard for girls. It took me a long time to accept that but I have and it is a lot easier for me in a lot of ways now that I have accepted it. She doesn’t like it but I tell her that’s life. She isn’t afraid to stand up for herself or others. She isn’t afraid to say what’s on her mind. These traits that I love about her so much, sometimes make my job as her mom harder, but it’s ok. I can take it and I know that I can let her go into the world and know that she can handle whatever may come her way.

3. You are getting close to that “empty nest” phase. How are you dealing? Excited? Sad? Relieved?

I’m dealing with it well. I’m a little of all the things you mentioned but mostly happy that we are moving onto the next phase in our life and marriage. Our son moved out a few weeks ago and it’s been great! We’ve done our job with him and it’s time for him to move onto this next phase in his life too. He’s struggling some with the stress of being out but he’ll be ok. I’m looking forward to the next 4 years with our daughter and REALLY looking forward to her high school graduation and her moving out too! Then it will be me, Uncle Bubba, and our dog…PEACE AND QUIET!!!

4. I love that you are so open and honest with your kids. Has there ever been a time when you wished they hadn’t asked a question or you thought about holding back?

They have shocked me on occasion, which is hard to do, but I rarely hold back with them. If I can’t be honest with my kids, who can I be honest with? Who else can they trust to tell them the truth, even if it IS sometimes brutal?

5. What is your favorite post from the last three months?

I’ve been slacking a bit in the blogging arena, trying to finish of the last few electives for my degree, but since you’re making me choose, I pick this post! Sometimes I Feel Sorry for Uncle Bubba

So now it is time for someone else to get a turn next week. It is pretty simple. All you have to do is follow these rules:

  1. Link up a favorite post you wrote this week.
  2. On the post you feature link back to my blog. Something like, “I’m sharing my awesome with Momma Made It Look Easy and you can too.” It can be in the tiniest print at the very bottom of your post.
  3. Link directly to your blog post and not your home page or a landing page. If you don’t know how to find the permalink just let me know and I’ll help you.

Next week I will randomly pick one participant to feature on my blog. Please follow all of the rules. I will delete you if you don’t. And while it isn’t a requirement, it would be really great if you would check out some of the other blogs that link up, and also, comments are always great. The posts so far have been great and I’m sure they will be this week too.

Don’t forget that if we don’t have at least five bloggers link up that have not been previously feature we will not have a featured blogger next wee so share, share, share! Put those awesome social media skills to work and spread the word! I will be sharing links on Twitter and Facebook tomorrow for everyone that links up.
