I’m SO excited about this week’s featured blogger. She’s not only a bloggy friend, but she is also going to be my roommate at BlogHer in August. We met in person last October at Bloggy Boot Camp in Austin and she has such a full of life personality that I immediately fell in friend love with her. Meet Elaine from The Miss Elaine-ous Life:
1. How is having a girl different from a boy?
Girls definitely make different noises than boys from the get go. Much more high-pitched and screechy. And girls can wear any color and since boys cannot the sky’s the limit on clothes. The choices are never ending and it’s hard on the old bank account. And, I’m already thinking that potty training is going to be earlier and much easier with my girl. Fingers crossed.
Good luck with that one. I had a horrid time with Baby Girl. But honestly I didn’t train Bud, his teacher did so I can’t really say how long it would have taken.
2. What made you decide to take up running for exercise instead of something else?
I took up running just because I wanted to see if I could do it. I LOATHED running when I was in school and always hated the days that we had to be to do track and field during P.E. I always made that joke that I only ran if chased. I also saw some of my friends (online) starting to run and they really inspired me to try it. Once I got into it I started to get the “runner’s high” that people talk about and I was sold.
3. What do you like about living in Louisiana the most?
The people. NICEST most friendly people I’ve ever lived around (well, besides my own parents). Seriously.
I will second this one.
4. What did you do before you were a SAHM?
I worked in the home decor industry with home accessories such as lamps, mirrors, rugs, decorative art, etc. I was a buyer for a bit for Bassett Furniture but then got laid off when they moved all of their offices back to the East coast. So then I went to work for a really cool company in Dallas that designed and manufactured home decor. I stopped working when G was born because my salary would have paid for two kids in daycare and that’s about it.
That sounds like a fun job.
5. What is your favorite post from the last year?
This is one of my favorite posts, not just for the post but for the COMMENTS! It’s REALLY hard to choose just one, by the way… How I Birthed and Fed My Babies, Judge Me NOT.
That’s Elaine. Don’t you just love her? (And now I’m probably a little jealous of her house even though I’ve never seen it. You know it has to look fantastic.) Be sure to go visit her site and show her some love. Now, who wants a turn for next week? It is pretty simple. All you have to do is follow these rules:
- Link up a favorite post you wrote this week.
- On the post you feature link back to my blog. Something like, “I’m sharing my awesome with Momma Made It Look Easy and you can too.” It can be in the tiniest print at the very bottom of your post.
- Link directly to your blog post and not your home page or a landing page. If you don’t know how to find the permalink just let me know and I’ll help you.
Next week I will randomly pick one participant to feature on my blog. Please follow all of the rules. I will delete you if you don’t. And while it isn’t a requirement, it would be really great if you would check out some of the other blogs that link up, and also, comments are always great. The posts so far have been great and I’m sure they will be this week too.
And while I normally don’t ask for stuff like this, could you PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE share this idea on Twitter and Facebook. I think the more participants we have the better.
My favorite post this past week was Everyone cried at my wedding.
