But the truth of the matter is, ain’t nothin’ gonna happen unless you do sumthin’.

ah, that is the key, isn't it?
my motivation was seeing myself in pictures and not liking what I saw. A few friends were in WW and looking so good…so I joined. I am thankful that I did…but it is a struggle still to keep the weight off. It is sooo easy to sit in on setting and eat an entire thing of M&Ms (ie; what I did last night) it's much harder to "work" at losing.
This may sound silly, but I think of the days when my thighs didn't rub together and it was comfortable to wear skirts in the Summer. Oh, and strapless dresses.
I've been trying to not eat more than a handful of anything at a time and no simple carbs. They have been banished from the house.
It seems my success is more diet related while my husband's is more towards exercise.
I have to tell you….the ONLY thing that worked for me is the hCG diet.
I try to just eat less. I find that if I make a conscious effort to not clean my plate, I don't feel as stuffed. When I don't feel as stuffed, I find that I have the energy to get up and do something. When I get up and do something, I have found that I am losing weight and more importantly feeling better. The something may be no more than going for a walk or just being super busy around my house cleaning, but at least I am moving. And it seems to be working for me, at least.
You start by knowing you are beautiful no matter how you look. Getting fit is about getting healthy. You look at yourself in pictures and don't like what you see, you avoid looking in the mirror because you don't like what you see, and you judge yourself on by what others say and think.
Use this as motivation. 1 lb of fat is the equivalent of one tub of butter. For every 1 less of those you have, that is 1 more year of health you have with your children. that is 1 more ball you toss with them, 1 more chase through the house, 1 more day to cherish making those memories.
You have to be motivated to CHANGE you FOR YOU, but in the long run, you are doing it for them too.
That is what keeps me going, even when I hate to do it.
Weight Watchers. I can't imagine any other way.
My kids were my motivation and you know how I did it. I sweated my ass off!
I just have to move my butt, because I have no willpower against sugar. It has a hold over me!
I have no idea. When you figure that one out, can you let me know?? I need some help.
Great question.. motivation. I am planning on doing a whole deal on this issue on my blog next week. I love your disclaimer on the kids names and the innocence lost for the adults. But, I am a hair girl and your short sassy cut is so cute. Love your blog. Super cute!!!
Do something, exactly!! Couldn't agree more!
I work out daily on EA Sports Active, not sure where I get my motivation probably from myself since I am single, but sometimes I guess I do get support from my FB and Twitter friends!!
Yeah, that kind of sucks, huh? Where's the 'Lose 80 by sitting on your ass!' diet? That's a plan I could get behind.
See, I suck at questions like this because when I think about enjoying life, I enjoy food and eating and the social aspects of it. I don't really overindulge, I just made bad food choices. I LOVE sweets. Fruits are good… in pies. I don't want to spend my life counting calories and measuring portions because that kind of thinking makes my life miserable, kinda like keeping a to-the-penny budget. I couldn't do it.
BUT, I know it would be good for me. The only way I have ever had success is a few things: 1) get hubs on board and have him support my efforts by doing the same himself; 2) get tempting foods out of the house; 3) get good, tasty, healthy substitutions for bad foods; and 4) allow myself to have one or two small treats everyday (liek 1 or 2 Hershey Kisses). I dont' do well with absolute cold turkey elimination.
